Photography & video
Your business has a story worth seeing.
Most small businesses rely on stock photos that could belong to anyone, or phone snapshots taken in a hurry. Neither builds the kind of trust that makes a customer choose you over the business down the street.
Authentic visual communication shows your business as it actually is. It gives customers reasons to feel connected before they’ve even walked through your door.

How does the photography and video process work?
Before we pick up a camera for business photography, we sit down with you — to understand your business, your customers, and the story you want to tell visually. What feeling should a customer have when they see your images? What makes your business different from every other business in your category? Those answers shape every creative decision that follows.
From there we plan the shoot. Our job is to make sure you’re prepared and comfortable before we arrive, so the shoot itself feels natural rather than forced.
Afterwards, every image is carefully selected and professionally edited in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Video is color graded and edited to a polished finish. You receive final files ready to use immediately — no extra steps required.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words
— show them what you’re all about.

Visual communication case study
When the pandemic shut down Jackie Cadzow’s art show in spring 2020, the work was ready, the venue was booked, but the audience had nowhere to go.
So we created a virtual art show instead — a filmed walk-through of every piece, an interview with Jackie and the museum curator, and an experience that put viewers right in the gallery. As a result,Jackie sold a significant amount of work from that show even though no one was physically there!
Sometimes a camera can do what a venue can’t.

Questions and answers
-
What equipment do you use — hopefully not just a smartphone?
Fair question — and no, not a smartphone. We shoot stills on Canon and Sony professional cameras including the Sony A7R IV, a full-frame mirrorless camera that captures exceptional detail in any light. For video we use the same Sony A7R IV alongside DJI Action cameras for dynamic and stabilized footage. Everything is shot in 4K for the highest possible quality — whether it ends up on your website, your social media, or a large format print.
All images are edited in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and all video is color graded and edited to a professional finish before delivery. -
Do you have a studio?
We prefer to shoot on location — at your business, in your environment, with the real context that makes your brand authentic. A studio shot can look polished but it rarely tells your story. Shooting where you actually work does.
We travel throughout Eastern North Carolina at no extra charge. For locations beyond a two-hour radius, a travel fee applies — and for shoots requiring an overnight stay, accommodation costs are agreed in advance and added to the project quote. -
What do I need to prepare before a shoot?
Not as much as you might think. Before we arrive we’ll have a conversation about what you want to achieve, who the images are for, and what story you want to tell. From there we’ll guide you through everything — location suggestions, what to wear, what props or elements to have ready. Our job is to make the process feel natural, not stressful. The best business photography happens when the subject is relaxed and comfortable — and getting you there is part of what we do.

Can I use the images anywhere?
Yes — although all the images are copyrighted to us, you will have an exclusive license for full business use. That means your website, social media, print materials, advertising, and anywhere else your business needs them. No hidden restrictions, no additional licensing fees. If there is any reason to deviate from that policy, we’ll discuss and agree beforehand what the terms would be.
