Services:
Copywriting & ghostwriting
Your website is built. Your online presence is taking shape. But keeping it alive and engaging is a job in itself.
Customers return when there’s something worth coming back for. A blog that hasn’t been updated in six months, a website that still describes last year’s services, a story worth telling that never gets told — these are quiet costs that add up over time.
Good copywriting takes time. It also takes a particular kind of creative energy that’s hard to summon when you’re busy running a business. That’s exactly why we’re here.

Every business has a story worth telling. Let’s tell yours.

How does the copywriting and ghostwriting process work?
We know that good copywriting for small business starts with good listening, which is why every project begins with understanding your story before we put a word on the page. That means absorbing your existing writing style, interviews to gather details and observe your natural style, and collaboration in the final edit so the words sound exactly like you — because it is you.
The result: writing that your customers will recognize as authentically you.
What types of copywriting and ghostwriting do we offer?
We handle a wide range of writing projects for small businesses:
- Blog posts and articles: regular content that shares your continuing story with customers and prospects. It keeps your site active, supports your SEO, and gives your audience a reason to come back
- Copy for your website: keeping your site current and topical.*
- Note: this service is for standalone writing projects. Projects to build a new website or updating an existing one includes the cost of writing the content.
- Press releases: when your business has news worth sharing
- Speaker bios: professional, polished, and written in your voice
What is ghostwriting?
- Ghostwriting means writing content that is published under your name rather than mine. If you have ideas, stories, or expertise to share but don’t have the time or confidence to write them up yourself, a ghostwriter does the writing while you take the credit. For small business owners this might mean blog posts, a newsletter, a LinkedIn article, or even a book. The work is entirely yours; I just put the words together.
We also write content for social media and customer email newsletter marketing.

The owner was so pleased with how this story captured his business and passion that he had copies reprinted as flyers for his customers. That’s what good writing does — it tells a story people want to share. See the original Cary Magazine reprint.

Questions and answers
What does copywriting for small business include?
Spine & Leaf Media offers copywriting for websites, landing pages, service descriptions, email campaigns, blog posts, and marketing materials. Every piece is written to reflect your business voice and speak directly to the customers you want to reach.
How is copywriting different from content creation?
Copywriting is focused on persuasion — it’s the words on your website, your service pages, and your calls to action that turn a visitor into a customer. Content creation is broader and includes blog posts, articles, and social content designed to educate and build trust over time. Both work best together.
Do you write in my voice or yours?
The idea is to speak in your voice. Before writing anything, we talk through how you communicate, what you want to say, and who you’re saying it to. The goal is copy that sounds like the best version of you — clear, credible, and consistent with your brand.
How long does a copywriting project take?
Most website copywriting projects are completed within two to three weeks depending on scope. Smaller projects like individual page rewrites or email sequences are typically faster.
